Research

Quantification of targeted contaminants (pesticides, drugs, plastic additives …) at trace level in complex environmental and biological matrices (honey bees, water, sediments, blood, organs …). Specialized in sample preparation (SPE, QuEChERS, μSLE, ASE …) and quantification method development by LC-MS / MS.

Biography

Barbara Giroud graduated with a DUT in Chemical Engineering in 1995 (University of Lyon 1). In 1999, she joined the CNRS central analysis service at Solaize (69) in the electrochemistry service.
In 2004, she joined the mass spectrometry team. She is trained on the different mass spectrometers coupled with liquid chromatography of the team to quantifie impurity in complex matrices (LC-MS/MS) and to measure the exact mass of organic compounds (ToF).
Since 2010, she has been working in the TRACES research team where she is a specialist in targeted method development by LC-MS / MS in the field of environment and health. She develops innovative analytical methods to quantify trace and ultra-trace contaminants of priority or emerging contaminants and is responsible for dedicated analysis equipment. She joined the UMR 5280 in 2012. For more than ten years, she has been involved in the problem of excess mortality of bees and is a specialist in bee matrices analyzes. Very concerned about safety, she is a workplace first-aid representative and a member of the health and safety commission since its creation at ISA.
