Research

Soraya CHAPEL is currently working as a PhD student in the “Chromatography and Hyphenated Techniques” group under the supervision of Dr. Sabine HEINISCH. Her research focuses on the characterization of complex samples by on-line comprehensive two-dimensional liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry (LC x LC-HRMS), with an emphasis on biological samples (proteins, monoclonal antibodies mAb, antibody drug conjugates ADC…).
The objective of this work is to contribute to a better understanding and to real advancements in 2D-separations through both fundamental studies and real-life sample applications. The main issues lie in (1) the choice of suitable chromatographic dimensions, (2) the improvement of sample transfer to limit injection effects and (3) technical implementation inherent to on-line mode.
This PhD research project is funded by the French Ministry for education and research with a scholarship granted by the doctoral school of chemistry of University of Claude Bernard Lyon 1.

Biography

Soraya CHAPEL graduated in 2017 from University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse with a master’s degree in analytical chemistry and instrumentation.
In 2015 she did a 6 months internship in the “laboratory of synthesis and physicochemistry of molecules of biological interest (LSPCMIB)” in Toulouse where she worked on the development and optimization of quantification methods for cyclic polyols in phytotherapeutic extracts by UHPLC-UV-ELSD. In 2016, she did a 2nd internship (6 months) at INRA in Montpellier, where she worked on the identification and quantification of biomarkers of the organoleptic potential of cocoa by UHPLC-MRM-MS.
