The two groups of this axis develop new methods in mass spectrometry and hyphenated technologies applied to health and environment research fields, as well as their interactions.
The group ANABIO-MS deals with qualitative and quantitative analyses involving organic, bio-organic and macromolecular molecules (e.g. proteins), structural analysis of peptides, proteins and aggregation mechanisms identification of biomarkers for clinical use or ecotoxicology. Numerical and theoretical approaches for chemical analysis
New numerical and theoretical approaches are developed at ISA to analyze at microscopic level phenomena measured macroscopically (as intermolecular interactions, diffusion, chemical reactions, etc), or to search for masked correlations in large analytical data (chemiometrics). The groups that constitute the axis all focus on the development of new methods in NMR spectroscopy aimed at applications that were impossible by any technique in area across domains from biology and medicine to materials sciences. This axis is composed of two groups involved in the development of separation sciences with more specific focus areas. The first group “Chromatography and hyphenated methods“ is dealing with the development of chromatographic techniques (LC, CPC, SFC) with a focus on on-line bidimensional techniques hyphenated to mass spectrometry and preparative chromatography, while the second group “separative methods” focuses on innovative materials for separation and miniaturization. The axis focuses on surface analysis, micro/nanostructuration of surfaces, control of surface chemistry, reactivity of bio-interfaces, electrochemistry. This multi-competence axis is composed of project-driven groups.
Devices exhibiting specific surface properties are developed for many materials applications (metals, polymers,…) and micro/nano (bio)sensors (for the most part electrochemical ones) are developed for environmental, health and food applications (fast, costeffective and multiplexed analytical methods suitable for the monitoring of environmental and food contamination, toxicological impact assessment, medical diagnosis and therapeutic applications).
